Adam is the owner of AJB Productions/co-owner of A&G Dance Company.
Gail is the co-owner of the A&G Dance Company
She has been choreographing to Adam’s music for 10 years. When she started her professional dance career, she was looking for deep, meaningful content and fell in love with Adam’s mission as an artist and musician. She always wanted to teach dance, but also knew the importance of working as a dancer to keep her students inspired. She now is a staple on the East End of Long Island where she is best known for her choreography, performance and education as a dancer and co-owner of the A&G Dance Company.
“This past year has been so fulfilling and gratifying. The first project “From Scratch” we were trying to define ourselves and it brought us a whole mess of attention. After getting toyed around with for almost a year with the major music labels, we started the 2nd project “A Simple Form of Expression” which was quite angry and aggressive. We also started getting more “artsy”. The 3rd and 4th projects were us diving deeper into choreography as we started looking for more dancers and changing the dynamic of what was once just the two of us. Ironically, the biggest feedback we received was for us to go back to the 2 of us. We thought long and hard about that with the 5th project which was focused on feeling isolated, yet strong and super confident in all that we stand for. Change The World! Do What You Love! Independent Matters! This 6th project just so happens to land on our 10th year and it feels so right. We have 3 beautiful, sexy, trained dancers who are all on the AJB train…Adam’s new art is so amazing and the new music is ridiculously awesome. The choreography is sick. We have head banging, flannel shirts, a dinosaur dance, a dance about being weird on a rocket ship, a hip hop pa de duex, and so much more…The choreography really has expanded and I’ve become so inspired by the music, the art, the dancers and just my life as a whole right now. Can you tell I’m excited?" -G
Sara Jo Strickland
Carla Lillie began dancing at the young age of 3 at Danse Arts in Bridgehampton. She danced there year after year studying classical ballet and jazz under the mentorship of Aras Ames and Sara Jo Strickland. In high school she studied more contemporary forms of dance with Sheryl Hastalis at the Ross School. Carla went on to study under Pamela Risenhoover at Randolph Macon Woman's college in Lynchburg, VA. Today she lives in Bridgehampton with her husband Colin and her three children, Summer, Savanna and Charlie. After 10 years she has rediscovered her passion for dance at HBTS and with the A & G dance company. She would like to thank her Mom for her dedication in allowing Carla to pursue her love for dance as a child.
Sara has been dancing since age 7. She initially started off at a local school where she gained performance experience and liked traveling with a competition team but deep down she wanted something more serious and challenging; that’s when she decided as an adult to study classical ballet with Valia Seiskaya. While she pursued her artistic interests, she gained her Bachelor of Arts at Stony Brook University as an English Major and Dance Minor. In addition she danced roles such as Snowflake, Spanish, Flower, Friend of Clara and Fritz in The Nutcracker. She participated in other classical ballets such as La Boutique, Las Damisales, Forest and MASK. In 2008, she obtained her Master’s of Library and Information Science at Long Island University. Since then she is a Reference Librarian and ESL Literacy Instructor at Patchogue-Medford Library. As a current board member for Suffolk County Library Association she serves as President of Reference and Adult Services Division.
Other styles of dance that she’s studied include Flamenco, Modern, Contemporary and Physical Theatre. She has performed with companies such as H.T. Chen and Dancers, Sol y Sombra and Amy Sullivan’s Origins and Destinies dance ensemble in college with Adam and Gail Baranello. After getting married in April of this year, she moved to Southampton and has really enjoyed living out on the East End. She would like to thank Sara Jo Strickland and the HBTS family for this exciting opportunity. She has thoroughly enjoyed rehearsing and performing with A & G Dance Company because her freedom of movement is able to be expressed and it’s been great dancing with old friends again!
