In The Cut: Rabbits on the Air (David Lynch) posted at: 30/04/15 @ 06:04 | « back to main
This week on In the Cut, (my segment on Bonnie in the Morning, on NPR Station 88.3 wppb), I spoke about two obscure projects from David Lynch: Rabbits and On the Air.
Both are considered by Lynch to be sitcoms. Rabbits is a very strange series of short avant-garde, horror-comedy video films written and directed by David Lynch from 2002, starring Naomi Watts, Scott Coffey and Laura Elena Harring.
On the Air was the second television program created by David Lynch and Mark Frost (the team that brought us Twin Peaks).
The program follows the antics of the staff of a fictional 1950s television network (Zoblotnick Broadcasting Company or ZBC), as they try to put on a live variety program called "The Lester Guy Show", with disastrous results.
Broadcast by ABC shortly after the end of Twin Peaks, 3 episodes were aired, although 7 episodes were filmed.
This has basically been a forgotten project of David Lynch, but recently all 7 episodes were viewable via youtube.
Worth watching for the true David Lynch Fans.
Here is episode 1. All 7 are up if you follow the video to youtube.
